Free ecards with no pick-up and no strings

We have launched simple free charity Christmas ecards.

We at SOS Children are hugely grateful for the generosity of the online community over the years. As a result of people's generosity through our website the amount of money we can use to help the world's most deserving children keeps increasing and our fundraising costs keep falling, especially now internet income has allowed us to drop direct mail. The internet is a very efficient way to give to charity. We are not complacent: Aids and War are increasing how much we have to do, and we are aiming to safeguard family life for a million children by 2016, but at Christmas in particular, when so many people take out child sponsorships and freely give we thought we ought to make our ecards as simple as possible and with no hidden catches. We hope this is a complete "suss" on ecard design!

  • We do not charge for the ecards

  • We do not keep email addresses of sender or recipients

  • The whole card is contained in an email, sent from the sender not us, so there is no need to go to a website to "pick it up"

  • The image is in an attachment, not on a remote server so there is no privacy issue in opening an image from a remote site

  • We have tested and designed the cards so that almost all email systems show you the whole image, so your friends won't be puzzled by some text links they never follow
